Agenda
- Juan: We need to decide on a charter. See https://numfocus.github.io/infrastructure/charter.html for an example.
- Juan: Unclear whether this falls in our jurisdiction, but I think it does: proposal to drop Medium and move back to our blog (preferably porting all the medium posts there)
- Providing Technical support to the NF community:
- Shared infrastructure across projects
- Technical review of marketing materials
- Technical support to the staff
Minutes
- Juan: The current term is for 2 years
- Transparency: NumFOCUS does not operate in an “open first” mode
- Wolf: update on NF executive search
- Aim to finalise in the next 3-6 weeks
- Wolf: NF is in some way like a build your own adventure
- Sanket: Technical board should have freedom to improve technical services
- Sanket: infrastructure: many NF GH teams are stale
- Juan: Blog migration to medium. Open proposal on proposals repo
- Dual governance doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MreHFYiNNH_hHje-nXHQUXlGcw7zQQXAPh96HXIQBvU/edit?tab=t.0
- Juan: Operations a opaque to us, they could use more transparency
- Sanket: The infra committee works in a way that tasks are delegated to the staff; maybe there's a better way to do things
- Jacob: Distributed community, folks get lost in what they're actually supposed to do
- Wolf: If they (NF) could do things more in public
- Juan: If the new ED would cater to that
- Wolf: Can we build technical solutions to help with the transparency?
- Jacob: Do we even need a charter?
- Sanket: The new onboarded fiscal projects—do they need any help from TSC? It'd be good include the TSC in the onboarding process
- Juan: It makes sense to include TSC in the project's onboarding and assisting them
